Hello

Lunar Mind was founded in 2022 by Kirstie Woolley due to experiences of own childhood experience committed to supporting families and allowing them to fulfil their full potential. Since completing her degree in Early Childhood Studies in 2014, she worked in a variety of positions with local authorities. Kirstie began working with additional needs as a family worker, she found a passion working with families and went on to gain her master’s in Social Work.

Kirstie has a wealth of experience and knowledge about Fostering, Child Protection and Children in the Care Sector. She quickly realised the importance of therapeutic services and enhanced therapeutic input at Bridge the Gap. This is where she enhanced her skillset around trauma and attachment through further training and utilised therapeutic parenting in

her interventions.

It was then in January 2022, a pilot project with Derby City Council and Derby County Community Trust working with children at risk of exclusion. Kirstie used a whole-family approach and unique plans for each family, including developing training for schools.

Lunar Mind offers a unique therapeutic service focusing on a whole family perspective specialising in trauma and attachment.

Her own teenage experiences of trauma have put her in the privileged position of being able to help other children and parents who are struggling, by delivering proactive early interventions that focus on giving them the tools they need to take care of their own mental well-being, as a way to prevent escalation to crisis points.
